What will it cost?

Website projects typically start from £2,500. What determines the final figure is what you’re up against. If your competitors have invested heavily in their websites and marketing, matching them takes more work. If they haven’t, getting you ahead is far easier and costs less. Your competition sets the bar, not me. I’ll look at what your competitors are actually doing, tell you honestly what it’ll take to compete, and give you a clear figure on a free consultation.

Website strategy and page planning, service page structure and content guidance, personalised design and development, responsive layouts for mobile, tablet and desktop, clear calls to action and enquiry routes, contact forms and essential features, SEO-ready headings and metadata, plus launch checks and handover. Hosting, care and ongoing support are provided separately at a monthly cost, so you’ll know exactly what’s included before you commit.

Yes. I know cash flow matters when you’re running a service business, so I split payments across the project rather than asking for it all up front. We’ll agree the schedule before we start.

Because you’re not buying the same thing. A cheap website doesn’t account for what you’re competing against. What I build is planned around your market, your customers and the enquiries you actually need, with the strategy and structure behind it that makes the difference. If all you need is a basic online presence, a cheap site might genuinely be the right call, and I’ll tell you so.

That’s the whole point. If one decent job covers a chunk of the cost, the maths works out fast for most service businesses. I can’t promise specific numbers, and anyone who does is guessing, but I build every site with one job in mind: getting you enquiries.

How does it work?

Most projects take around 6 to 12 weeks. The timeline depends on the size of the site, how much content needs creating and how quickly feedback comes back during the process. I’ll give you a realistic timeline at the start and keep you posted as we go.

Your time for a discovery call, any brand materials you already have. That’s mostly it. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. I’ll guide you through what’s needed and when, so you’re never left wondering what happens next.

As little as possible, and that’s deliberate. I do the work, you sign things off. At each stage I’ll show you where things are and you just confirm you’re happy so we can move on. You’ve got a business to run, and you shouldn’t have to project manage your website on top of it.

Content is the single biggest thing that delays website projects, so I write it all for you. Photography is the one area where your input genuinely helps. I can use stock images, but custom photography of you, your team and your work builds far more trust with potential customers, so it’s worth doing properly if you can. I’ll advise on what’s needed and how to get it.

You can, but the whole point is that you shouldn’t have to. Small edits are included in the care plan, so you can just send them over and I’ll handle it. That way your site stays consistent and properly looked after while you get on with running your business. If you’d rather have access to make your own changes, that’s fine too.

Can I trust you?

You wouldn’t be the first person to tell me that. The usual complaints are jargon, disappearing acts and paying for something that never brought in any work. I’d rather show you than tell you: everything gets explained in plain English, you’ll always know what’s happening and what the next step is, and I’m still here after launch. If something isn’t working, say so and I’ll sort it.

Yes, completely. The domain, the site, the content, all yours. I don’t build on anything you can’t take with you, and I don’t hold anything hostage.

You take your website with you and I’ll help with the transfer. Care plans run month to month with no tie-in, so you’re staying because it’s working, not because you’re stuck. Honestly, if you leave, I’d take that as a sign I hadn’t done my job well enough.

No. Launch is the start, not the finish. Hosting, care and ongoing support are available, and I handle the final checks and launch process myself. The finished site should give you a stronger foundation for SEO, marketing and future improvements, and I’m here to help with those.

Because you’ll be dealing with me, not an account manager passing messages to someone you never meet. I do the work, so I know your project inside out. I also spent years on the tools before I did this, so I understand what running a service business actually feels like. That said, I’m not right for everyone. If your project needs a big team, I’ll tell you honestly.

The practical stuff

No. I’m based in Derbyshire and I work with plenty of local businesses, but I work with clients further afield too. The most important thing is that your business is the right fit for the way I work.

No. I focus on websites for service businesses rather than online shops. If you need a website that explains your services, builds trust and generates enquiries, that’s where I can help.

WordPress. It’s flexible, you own it outright, it’s excellent for SEO, and it won’t lock you into a monthly subscription just to keep your site online. It’s also the platform thousands of developers know, so you’re never stuck with only one person who can work on it.

Yes. Your website will be built to work properly across mobile, tablet and desktop, so visitors can read your content, navigate your pages and send an enquiry easily, whatever device they’re using.

Yes. Every site is built with SEO-ready headings, metadata and page structure as standard. I also offer ongoing SEO for businesses that want to compete properly in search.

Yes, and it’s how every project works. A website isn’t a one-off purchase. It needs hosting, updates and security, and someone keeping an eye on how it’s actually performing. I monitor your rankings and traffic, spot opportunities to improve things, and handle small edits so your site keeps getting better rather than slowly going stale. Care plans run month to month with no tie-in. SEO work usually needs a longer commitment, simply because it takes months rather than weeks to show results, and I’ll be upfront about that before you commit to anything.

Ready to start?

We talk about your business, what’s not working, and what you actually need. I’ll ask questions about your customers and your goals, and give you my honest take on what would help. It’s a conversation, not a pitch.

None. The consultation is free and you’re under no pressure to go ahead. Plenty of people have a chat and decide the timing isn’t right, and that’s completely fine.

I work best with service business owners looking for a long-term partner rather than a one-off job. Your website is the start, but the real value comes from what happens after launch: keeping it working, improving it, and building on it as your business grows. If you want someone who knows your business and stays involved for the long haul, that’s exactly how I work.
